For centuries, composers have found inspiration in chorales and hymn tunes. There are thousands of these tunes that cover a multitude of seasons, occasions, holidays, and moods. Composers that lived well before JS Bach up to today have based organ works on these familiar and often comforting tunes. In recognition of the upcoming convention of the Hymn Society in the United States, this episode features hymn-based compositions.
